MyInvois

proper noun Malaysia e-invoicing system

MyInvois is Malaysia's national e-invoicing system, operated by the tax authority LHDN (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri). Businesses submit invoice data to the MyInvois portal or through their accounting software for validation, and the buyer and seller receive a validated e-invoice. It is being introduced in phases by business size, and is a separate regime from Singapore's InvoiceNow.

Why it matters

Why a Malaysian SME should care

LHDN is rolling MyInvois out in waves, starting with the largest businesses and extending down to smaller ones over time. As your turn arrives, issuing a validated e-invoice through MyInvois stops being optional, so the practical question is whether your accounting software can submit for you.

Complying with Singapore's InvoiceNow does not cover MyInvois, and the reverse is also true: they are two separate systems. A business operating in both countries needs software that handles each. Tools like Financio put MyInvois front and centre; broader tools handle it through an integration or filing partner.
