At a glance
The short version
What we liked
- Backs up Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace accounts, the data most SMBs wrongly assume is already backed up
- One product covers SaaS seats, laptops, servers and VMs together
- Unlimited backup storage for Microsoft 365 workloads, with no overage charges
- Mature vendor with a large regional MSP network, so local support is buyable
Where it falls short
- Not yet hands-on tested by us, research based for now
- No public price: sold through service providers, and licensing mixes per-workload, per-seat and per-GB models
- The bundled anti-malware layer draws consistent MSP feedback that it needs supplementing, not replacing your antivirus
- Backup windows can need real tuning on busy machines, per practitioner reports
Bottom line If your business runs on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, understand one thing first: Google and Microsoft keep your service running, but deleted or corrupted data past the retention window is your problem, not theirs. Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is one of the few products that closes that gap and covers your devices in the same console. Buy it through an MSP you trust, get the price in writing, and treat the bundled security layer as a bonus, not your whole defence.
The verdict
What Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is, and who it is for
Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is a backup platform with a security layer bolted on, sold not to you but to the IT companies and managed service providers who look after small businesses. If an MSP in Singapore or Malaysia quotes you "backup" today, there is a fair chance this is what they are quoting. That distribution model is the first thing to understand: you will usually buy this as part of a service, with the MSP running the console, and the quality of your experience depends on them as much as on Acronis.
The capability that earns it a page on this site is SaaS backup. Most SMBs assume Microsoft or Google backs up their email and files. In practice both run a shared-responsibility model: the service is theirs, the data is yours, and beyond retention windows and thin recycle-bin grace periods, a deleted mailbox or a ransomware-encrypted Drive is your loss. Cyber Protect Cloud backs up Microsoft 365 mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, and Google Workspace Gmail, Drive, Contacts and Calendar, per seat, with Microsoft 365 workloads getting unlimited backup storage and no overage charges. It covers laptops, servers and virtual machines from the same console, which for a small business means one recovery story instead of three.
On price we will be straight with you, because Acronis is not: there is no public rate card. Licensing mixes per-workload, per-seat (Microsoft 365 seats come in packs of five) and per-GB models, and multiple review platforms flag the pricing opacity as a genuine user complaint. Your real price comes from your MSP. Get it itemised.
The practitioner consensus, drawn mostly from MSP communities since local SG and MY forum discussion does not exist, is consistent: the backup engine is trusted and recovery works, which is the job; the bundled anti-malware layer is convenient but most MSPs run dedicated endpoint security alongside it rather than instead of it; and backup windows on busy machines take real tuning. Acronis itself is a mature vendor, founded in Singapore in 2003, with a 5-star CRN partner rating in 2026 and no instability signal.
Who is it for? A business on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace with an MSP relationship, or willing to start one, that wants SaaS seats and devices recoverable from one place. Who should pass? A solo operator wanting a cheap self-serve backup, who will find simpler direct-purchase tools better shaped for them. This is our research based read; a hands-on test is planned, and we will update and re-date the review when it is done.
Pricing
What it costs, as far as anyone will tell you
Acronis publishes no rate card for Cyber Protect Cloud; it is priced through service providers. We print no figure we cannot verify, and the one number circulating in older research did not survive a check against Acronis’s own pages.
| What | Price | How it is licensed | What to ask your MSP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Devices & servers | Via MSP | Per workload (machine, server, VM) or per GB | Which model they resell, and the per-unit rate in writing. |
| Microsoft 365 backupThe SaaS gap | Via MSP | Per seat, sold in packs of five; unlimited backup storage, no overages | Price per seat, and confirm mailbox, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams are all included. |
| Google Workspace backup | Via MSP | Per seat | Price per seat, and what of Gmail, Drive, Contacts and Calendar is covered. |
| Security add-ons | Via MSP | Modular: EDR, DLP and management packs are separately licensed | Exactly which security modules are in the quote, since the base anti-malware is not the full stack. |
Why we print no number: the only honest answer is that your price depends on your provider, their commitment tier with Acronis, and which modules land in the bundle. Anyone quoting you a flat "Acronis costs X" figure is quoting their own packaging, not the product. Our rule on this site is that unverifiable prices do not get printed, the same rule we applied to SiteGiant and Lark. Get two MSP quotes and make them itemise per seat and per device.
